1. What makes India Partners' sponsorship program unique?

Because the need for help in India is so great and so varied, India Partners offers three sponsorship programs: for children, widows, and school teachers.

2. Why does India Partners have these different sponsorship programs?

The bottom line is hope. When anyone--child, widow or teacher--gets sponsored through one of India Partners' sponsorship programs, that person has hope for the future.

3. Now I see the need. How does sponsorship benefit each?

4. I want to sponsor! What is the investment on my part?

Sponsorship is a modest commitment of your time and money. To sponsor a child or widow is $30 per month; to sponsor a school teacher is $60 per month for a full sponsorship, or $30 per month for a shared sponsorship. We hope that the investment of your time includes praying for your sponsored friend. Your friend will write you at least twice each year and you are encouraged but not required to reply. You will also receive an annual photo of your sponsored friend.

5. May I choose whether to sponsor a child, widow, or school teacher?

Yes.

6. May I choose a specific child, widow, or teacher to sponsor?

For children, you may specify the gender and age of the child you would like to sponsor. We then provide you with a child who most closely matches your request. The sponsorship of widows and school teachers is prioritized by our partner agencies in India on the basis of most urgent need.

7. How much of my money goes to India for my sponsored friend?

87% of your monthly sponsorship donations go to India to support your child, widow, or school teacher.

8. How do I know that my funds are being used properly?

We are called India Partners because we maintain long-term relationships with our partner agencies in India. We know the directors of our partner agencies personally, and they know us. We can vouch from these personal, long-term relationships that the directors and staff of our partner agencies are responsible administrators. Volunteer team members who have visited our partner agencies have confirmed the same. So the foundation of our sponsorships is constructed on the bedrock of trust.

Upon that trust our sponsorship programs are built with integrated supervision and reporting requirements. Many sponsored children are under the direct daily care and supervision of one of our partner agencies. Sponsored children not under that direct daily care, and sponsored adults--widows, and school teachers--are visited by a partner agency at least monthly to ensure that sponsorship funds are put to the designated uses and that your sponsored friend's welfare is being met.

In addition, both India Partners and all of our partner agencies in India are properly registered with their respective governments as non-profit charities. Before we partner with an agency in India, they are thoroughly researched, evaluated, and reviewed according to our high standards of accountability. India Partners' and all of our partner agencies' financial books and accounts are independently audited every year.

Due to this trust, supervision and accountability, you can rest assured that your sponsorship funds are being used wisely and properly. Before we partner with an agency in India, they are thoroughly researched, evaluated, and reviewed according to our high standards or accountability.

9. How long do sponsorships continue?

You decide. You may discontinue your sponsorship at any time, upon notice to India Partners. We do ask that you sponsor for at least one year, if possible.

In most cases, child sponsorships terminate when the child has finished school and enters the job market, but some sponsors have continued their support so their sponsored friend can work on a college education or get vocational training to become self-sufficient. Widow sponsorships usually continue until the widow's death. The length of school teacher sponsorships varies with each situation, but usually last until the teacher leaves her positon at the school.

Most of our sponsors have enjoyed sponsoring for many years, but the choice is up to you. When you terminate the sponsorship, we try to find a new sponsor.

10. I want to help! What payment methods are available? And how often are funds sent to my sponsored friend?

You may send your sponsorship via check, money order, credit card, or electronic funds transfer (EFT) from your checking or savings account. We will send you a receipt for each donation you send, along with an envelope for your next gift. You can also set-up your credit card online or over the phone to recurr automatically each month. Or, you can set-up monthly automatic withdrawl from your checking or savings account. Contact us if you have any further questions about payment options.

Sponsorship funds are forwarded to India monthly, so your gift gets used without delay.
