India Partners reveals the plight of the “untouchables” through music, film and artistic expression at its annual Eugene benefit banquet

EUGENE, OR, April 2, 2012 – The Dalit, or “untouchable,” caste in India makes up an invisible majority of the country’s 1.3 billion people. India Partners’ annual spring benefit banquet – “Touching the Untouchables” – will highlight India Partners’ work among the poorest of the poor in India through music, film and artistic expression. Over a meal of Indian cuisine, guest speaker David Harms will share captivating stories from India’s slums and red-light districts. The event will be held at the Valley River Inn on Saturday, April 21st at 6:30pm.

An interactive Indian bazaar will highlight India Partners’ relief and development projects, alongside a raffle and silent auction with gifts from India and the Pacific Northwest.
