PORTLAND, OR – Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

India Partners will host a banquet to educate people about the horrors of human trafficking in Oregon and India on Saturday, October 23 at 6:30pm at the Jantzen Beach Red Lion Hotel in Portland, Oregon.

Jessica Richardson, a human trafficking survivor, will share her personal experience as a trafficked woman in Oregon. Kaytie Fiedler, India Partners Regional Representative, who works with trafficked women and children in India, will share how people can take action to rescue women and children from the scourge of the sex trade worldwide.

"I have met the women and children who are victims of the modern day slave trade," says Fiedler. "Their stories would horrify you. Some I will not repeat because I cannot bring myself to say the words."

The Media are invited to join Jessica Richardson and Kaytie Fiedler for in-person interviews and photo opportunities before the event.
