India Partners Receives Grant

India Partners, a Christian relief & development organization based in Eugene, Oregon has received a $50,000 matching grant from Mission Increase Foundation of Lake Oswego, Oregon. The grant will be used by India Partners in a variety of ways to reach and help more people in India than at any time in the non-profit's 20-year history. Since 1999, Mission Increase has donated matching grants to a wide variety of Christian ministries. Since 1994, India Partners has sent over $1,000,000 in monetary donations and supplies to help tens of thousands of people in India.

"The confidence that Mission Increase has shown in India Partners through this gift is significant. This grant will allow us to help still more people in India who are in dire need and change their lives for the better," said Brent Hample, Executive Director.

India Partners is committed to supporting self-help ministry projects in India including vocational training of children and the disabled, agricultural projects that grow food for the poor, medical projects including a new hospital in remote Malkangiri and a child sponsorship program that provides food, clothes, shelter and education to those most in need.

Every year, India Partners organizes short-term volunteer teams who travel to India and work directly with the projects they support. The next trip will be January 26-February 12, 2005. There is a special need for medical and ophthalmological professionals, but volunteers with musical, computer, photography and videography skills are also needed.
