India Partners is an international and humanitarian organization providing life-changing care to children and families living in extreme poverty in India. For 40 years, India Partners has helped to meet the needs of people in India suffering without safety, food, education, shelter, medical care, and more. We serve all regardless of caste, religion, gender, or creed.
Today, there are at least 5 million children of sex workers in India. These children grow up surrounded by brothels, drugs and prostitution because their mothers often work or live in these areas. Children left to live in this environment are at extremely high risk of being abused or used in the trade themselves.
Rajana grew up in one of Mumbai's red light district. Every night, men come into a small, dark room in the alley to see her mother. They live in squalor. Rajana often roams the streets alone as her mother works in the sex trade.
“I feel very bad in the red light area where I live,” says 8-year old Rajana. “I always feel that it was a bad place for me,” she says as she fights the tears in her eyes. “I want to come of out of that place and I want to live a better life than in this dirty place.”
For years our partners in India have provided safe refuge and services for trafficked women and children in Kamathipura, one of the world's largest and oldest red-light districts located in Mumbai.
$50 provides a week of safety, rescue and care for a woman or child enduring the dangers of Mumbai's red-light districts. Mothers can relocate their children to a safe house where they will receive shelter, food, clothing, medical care, counseling and an education while they receive the help they need to leave the sex-trade.
By giving women and children Days of Safety you can change their lives by providing them with an environment of hope and healing. Your generosity helps to rescue these women and children from abuse and exploitation, and gives them a way forward. Your support empowers them with the resources, tools, and skills they need to build a successful future

Special Human Trafficking Prevention Month Project
One of our safe houses in the red-light district that is currently home to young girls of sex workers aged 5-11 years old, is the Krupalay Hostel. Many of the young girls have suffered trauma, neglect, and lack of resources before arriving at our hostel. Upon arrival they immediately receive comfortable housing, food and services such as a clean bathroom and shower, a healthy family environment, education and mentorship, and trauma counseling.
The rehabilitating work that happens at the hostel is of utmost importance and recently the once-safe location has been compromised.
Due to economic decline and inflation, the once-safe neighborhood of the hostel has deteriorated. The girls' education has also suffered as crime rates rise and educational resources dwindle.
We need to act urgently and move our facility to a better neighborhood with upgraded amenities and quality schools. Timely assimilation is a major factor in making sure these girls have the highest chance of success.
We have $8500 left to fund the $33,426 hostel project! Will you help these girls move to their new home?
